Overview
CONTRACT POSITION - Duration: Negotiable - Tax free biweekly salary with vehicle & housing provided. Additional $150 pay per flight or ground critical care run. Flights paid to/from continental United States.
This position could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate. This role is to provide coverage for our ground, rotor and fixed-wing programs while other team members rotate on/off Island.
Join our dynamic medical team as an experienced Critical Care Paramedic (Ground / Flight), where your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality, life-saving care during critical moments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide advanced pre-hospital and in-flight patient care, ensuring swift, safe, and effective transportation for patients requiring critical interventions. Duties
- Provide advanced emergency medical care to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital settings and during air/ground transport.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of conditions.
- Manage and perform advanced airway management, to include orotracheal intubation via direct laryngoscopy, while ensuring proper oxygenation and ventilation.
- Administer medications and injections following established protocols, including IV therapy and venipuncture procedures. Be proficient with multiple IV drip titration, to include vasopressors, sedatives, analgesia and paralytics.
- Operate medical equipment such as Zoll ProPaq MD Cardiac Monitor / Defibrillators, CareFusion Revel Ventilators, Sapphire Infusion Pumps, and other critical care devices with precision.
- Maintain clear communication with hospital staff, dispatch teams, and emergency responders to coordinate patient care seamlessly.
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and medical terminology standards to ensure patient safety and infection control during all procedures.
- Drive emergency response vehicles safely while managing heavy lifting tasks associated with patient transfer equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Proven Critical Care Experience in ground and aircraft environments is REQUIRED.
- Valid NREMT-P certification with FP-C and/or CCP-C is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
- Ability to converse in Spanish is PREFERRED.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced airway management, medication administration, venipuncture, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment techniques essential for high-stakes decision-making.
- Experience operating DME (Durable Medical Equipment) used in critical care transport environments.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during patient transfers or equipment setup.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving emergency response vehicles is preferred.
