Duties
- Engage with customers to provide outstanding service and support during their shopping experience.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Assist in merchandising products effectively to enhance visibility and promote sales.
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits.
- Maintain well-stocked shelves through effective stocking practices and inventory management.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support in their roles.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory levels and assist with pricing strategies.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the shopping experience.
- Experience in retail sales, particularly within grocery or similar environments.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when needed.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
