About the Role
Are you a passionate pre-licensed clinician looking to gain rich, diverse clinical hours? Aloha Psych Associates, Inc. is hiring immediately for several associate-level therapist positions to join our growing team in San Diego.
This unique role offers the best of both worlds. You will spend part of your time working within our innovative integrated behavioral health program, collaborating with others to assess and treat a wide range of mental and physical health issues. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain a traditional outpatient mental health caseload, allowing you to provide deeper, long-term psychotherapy.
Because we serve a diverse patient population, we are specifically looking for clinicians with an interest or background in geriatric care, chronic/severe mental illness, and substance use disorders.
What You’ll Do (Essential Responsibilities)
- MultidisciplinaryCare: Provide brief, targeted interventions, health psychology, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Outpatient Psychotherapy: Carry a regular outpatient caseload, providing comprehensive, evidence-based individual therapy for long-term clinical goals.
- Specialized Clinical Focus:
- Support geriatric patients navigating cognitive decline, chronic health conditions, grief, and late-life transitions.
- Provide stable, recovery-oriented care for individuals managing chronic and persistent mental illness (SMI).
- Utilize harm-reduction and relapse-prevention strategies to treat individuals with substance use disorders and dual diagnoses.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate treatment plans with primary care doctors, psychiatrists, nursing, social workers and other medical specialists.
- EHR Documentation: Maintain timely, high-quality clinical documentation in compliance with industry standards.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- Active Registration: Must hold an active, clear registration with the California BBS (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) or the California Board of Psychology (Registered Psychological Associate).
- Clinical Interests & Experience:
- Prior experience or a strong clinical interest in working with older adults/geriatric populations.
- Comfort and competence in treating chronic mental illness and substance abuse/addiction.
- A desire to work in collaborative, medical, or integrated primary care environments.
- Therapeutic Modalities: Experience with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention.
- Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with multi-specialty healthcare providers.
Why Join Aloha Psych Associates?
- Immediate Openings: We are actively expanding and looking to onboard multiple clinicians immediately.
- Diverse Clinical Experience: Broaden your resume by gaining simultaneous experience in both fast-paced integrated care and traditional outpatient private practice environments.
- Consistent Clinical Hours: Get a steady, reliable stream of in-person clinical hours to help you meet your licensure requirements smoothly.
- High-Quality Supervision: Receive robust, weekly clinical supervision tailored to support your professional growth and help you prepare for licensure.
