Job Summary
We are needing to add a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to help with residential construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various construction skills, demonstrate leadership capabilities while ensuring high-quality workmanship and maintain safety standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in carpentry and general construction, along with the ability to read and comprehend blueprints. We are a small company looking to add more people to our team.
Duties
- Lead and coordinate construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications.
- Supervise a team of workers, providing guidance and support in various tasks including framing, trim carpentry, and fixture installation.
- Conduct accurate construction estimating to ensure proper budgeting for materials and labor.
- Perform hands-on tasks such as concrete forming, siding installation, flooring and possibly tile work.
- Oversee the installation of cabinets, doors, flooring, and other fixtures while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the construction site while enforcing safety protocols.
- Help train team members on the proper use of hand tools and power tools while promoting best practices in woodworking and restoration techniques.
Skills
- Proficient in construction blueprint reading.
- Extensive experience in trim carpentry, frame carpentry, cabinetry installation, door hanging, window and flooring installation.
- Knowledgeable in various construction techniques
- Familiarity with heavy lifting requirements and safe handling of materials on-site.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while ensuring high-quality results across all projects.
