Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and quickly
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are properly displayed according to merchandising standards
- Assist with inventory management by receiving shipments, stocking new items, and conducting regular stock checks
- Maintain phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors over the phone
- Upsell products by recommending additional items that meet customer needs or preferences
- Support merchandising initiatives to create attractive displays that promote sales opportunities
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions, discounts, or pricing adjustments accurately
- Engage in retail math tasks such as counting inventory or calculating totals during sales activities
- Ensure a clean and safe store environment by adhering to safety protocols and store policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect positively with diverse customers
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse community effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for team support roles
- Excellent phone etiquette and professional demeanor in all customer interactions
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory tasks
