American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) for a 13-week OR assignment at an acute care facility in California, requiring active CA RN licensure and CNOR certification.

Acute care hospital OR setting with 7 surgical suites handling 18–20 cases per day
-
Common case types include laparoscopic, bariatrics, ortho, neuro, uro, GYN, and ENT procedures

1:1 and 2:1 patient ratios

EMR: Cerner
-
OR techs and charge nurse support are present on the unit
-
Shifts are variable 8- or 10-hour days
-
No weekend requirement for RNs
-
On-call is required: approximately 1 week of nights per week and 2 twelve-hour weekend call shifts per month

Call response time required within 30 minutes

Holiday coverage is required

Floating may be required to pre- and post-op areas only

Scrubbing is preferred but not required for RNs

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) required; pending licenses will not be accepted

Minimum 2 years of RNFA or OR experience required

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and CNOR (via CCI); pending certifications will not be accepted

Experience with Cerner EMR

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration

Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Scrubs are provided by the facility
