About Us: We are a farmer-owned cooperative located in the heart of the Palouse in Uniontown, WA. For 110 years, we have served our member-owners with integrity and speed. We pride ourselves on being a small, tight-knit team where your hard work is seen, recognized, and rewarded.
The Role: We are looking for a hands-on Grain Superintendent to lead our operations team. You aren’t just sitting in an office; you are the "boots on the ground" leader ensuring our elevator runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
If you are currently a Foreman or Lead Hand looking to take the next step in your career, or an experienced Superintendent looking for a stable, community-focused cooperative, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Crew: Supervise and mentor our yard crew and seasonal harvest staff.
- Run the House: Manage the receiving, conditioning, blending, and load-out of grain (Truck).
- Keep it Running: Oversee preventative maintenance on legs, drags, and handling equipment. If it breaks, you help figure out how to fix it.
- Keep it Safe: Champion a "safety-first" culture. You are responsible for ensuring everyone goes home safe every night.
- Protect the Asset: Monitor grain quality, manage aeration, and ensure we aren't losing value to spoilage.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in grain handling is required. You know your way around an elevator leg and a boot pit.
- Leadership: You know how to motivate a crew during the long hours of harvest.
- Mechanical Skill: You aren't afraid to pick up a wrench. Basic welding or mechanical troubleshooting skills are highly valued.
- Reliability: You are organized, punctual, and take pride in a clean facility.
Why Work With Us?
- Stability: We are a stable, farmer-owned business.
- Benefits: Family Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance (Premiums 100% paid by the Cooperative for you and your dependents); Paid Vacation and Sick time; Retirement Plan; Costco Membership, Life Flight.
- Community: Live and work in a great rural community with a low cost of living.
