Job Summary
Assumes responsibility and accountability for providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of performance components affecting functioning and to provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum level of independence to clients suffering from disability, disease or injury. The physical therapist organizes, conducts, and elevates medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part; helps patient’s reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within his/her capabilities. Directs and supervises physical therapist assistants, and students. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Consults and assessments/reassessments will be performed and documented within 24 hours of admission or when feasible once patient is medically stable. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 4 hours online training.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited physical therapy program, having earned a Bachelor of Science Degree or Master's Degree in physical therapy or Certified from approved Physical Therapy Program after having previously completed a Bachelor of Science in a related field.
- Must be licensed in the state of Florida.
- Must be BLS certified from AHA.

Pay: $39.00 - $57.00 per hour
