Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement patient care tailored to the specific needs and age of the ICU population
- Perform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments, setting and adjusting priorities as necessary
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in accordance with nursing standards
- Interpret clinical findings, make comprehensive decisions, and modify care plans as needed
- Educate patients and families, and contribute to effective discharge planning
- Carry out timely interventions and document procedures, including Point of Care testing
- Delegate and monitor unit assignments, ensuring completion of support activities
- Mentor and support new staff and students, enhancing the unit’s growth and performance
- Demonstrate professionalism, respectful communication, and support for the positive culture of the unit
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license
- BLS and ACLS certified (AHA)
- TNCC certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and schedules
