Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Textile and Upholstery Cutting Room Manager to oversee the operation of our cutting and production department. You will manage the entire cutting process for table linens (table cloths, napkins etc) as well as upholstery components (cushions, couch covers, cart covers etc). The ideal candidate understands pattern layouts, pattern making, fabric yields and optimization. You will coordinate between the cutting team and sewing operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee daily cutting and sewing operations for tablecloths, napkins, and related fabric products.
- Yield Optimization: Calculate fabric yields, pattern/marker layouts, and nesting plans to minimize scrap and maximize material utilization.
- Pattern Expertise: Review, interpret, and adjust patterns for various products and fabrics.
- Product Knowledge: Proven background working with linens, home textiles, soft signage or apparel (experience with tablecloths and napkins is highly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of fabric, shrinkage, pattern matching (stripes, plaids, damasks), and yield calculation formulas.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate between the cutting floor, design team, and sewing room operators.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
