Be the First Step in Exceptional Care
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Office Professional (also known as an Outpatient Access Representative) to support our outpatient clinic in Brockport, NY. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients during clinic visits, ensuring an efficient, accurate, and welcoming experience from check-in to check-out.
What You’ll Do:
- Welcome and direct patients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience
- Register and verify patient demographics and insurance in the electronic medical record system (EMR)
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-ups using EMR and access systems
- Check patients in/out and assist with in basket queue
- Answer and route incoming calls, right fax, and manage telephone encounters in EMR
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records to ensure billable services
- Monitor patient flow, wait times, and lobby conditions to support service excellence
- Use HIPAA-compliant practices to protect patient privacy
- Assist with charge reconciliation and resolve registration issues
- Support new team members as a resource, when needed
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of administrative or customer service experience
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems and scheduling tools preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
