Hattie Ide Chaffee Home is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Unit Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys leading a team, building relationships with residents and families, and ensuring exceptional quality of care in a supportive, resident-centered environment.
As a Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit while collaborating with physicians, interdisciplinary staff, residents, and families to provide outstanding care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support nursing staff on the assigned unit.
- Ensure high-quality resident care in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Monitor resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, and family members.
- Assist with staff education, coaching, and performance management.
- Promote infection prevention and resident safety.
- Respond to clinical issues and provide hands-on nursing support as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all CMS, RIDOH, and facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
