Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Director of Staff Development and Infection Prevention Nurse to lead our organization's efforts in staff education, training, and infection control initiatives. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive staff development programs focused on infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
- Lead infection control initiatives by establishing protocols aligned with industry standards such as CDC guidelines and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular staff education sessions on topics including HIPAA compliance, medical documentation best practices, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control procedures.
- Monitor adherence to infection prevention policies through audits, observations, and data analysis; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards related to infection prevention and staff training.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, infection incidents, and compliance metrics; prepare reports for leadership review.
- Serve as a resource for clinical staff on complex topics such as acute care procedures, ICU protocols, pediatrics care practices, home care standards, and adult education methodologies.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration
- Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention and control practices within healthcare environments including hospitals, nursing homes, or teaching hospitals.
- Extensive background in nursing education or staff development with proven success in designing engaging training programs.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles combined with excellent communication skills for effective teaching and team collaboration.
