Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our members and guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, committed to excellence, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will play an integral role in executing the Executive Chef’s culinary vision while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and sanitation.
This position requires strong technical cooking abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to professionalism. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and help uphold the reputation and service standards of Hillcrest Country Club.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout all kitchen areas.
- Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and guest preferences.
- Complete daily station setup, prep work, and inventory management for efficient service.
- Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other menu components with consistency and precision.
- Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, baking, and braising.
- Follow proper portion control, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Assist with banquet and special event food preparation and execution.
- Support team goals related to member satisfaction, food quality, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a fine dining, upscale restaurant, private club, luxury hotel, or similar high-end culinary environment required.
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Culinary Arts preferred from an accredited culinary institution.
- Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen operations.
- Demonstrated ability to execute dishes with consistency, precision, and attention to presentation.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience working multiple stations in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to follow recipes and standardized procedures while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
