Retail Store Associate
Mahoney’s Building Supply is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Retail Store Associate to join our team.
This position involves a mix of customer service, retail sales, stocking, and general store responsibilities. You’ll work directly with contractors and homeowners, helping customers find products, answering questions, processing purchases and orders, and keeping the store organized and well stocked.
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a busy retail environment. Experience with building materials is helpful, but not required.
What You’ll Do
- Greet customers and assist them with products and material needs
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service in person and over the phone
- Process customer purchases, orders, and other transactions accurately
- Answer product questions and help customers locate items
- Communicate with Purchasing and other departments regarding inventory and customer needs
- Assist with special orders and follow up as needed
- Receive, stock, and organize incoming products
- Keep shelves, displays, and customer areas clean, organized, and well stocked
- Monitor product inventory and pricing
- Open and close cash registers as assigned
- Work with other team members to ensure customers are assisted promptly
- Perform other duties as needed to support the store

- Comfortable using computers, phones, and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain a sense of urgency
- Previous retail, customer service, sales, or building material experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform tasks associated with stocking and organizing merchandise
- Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to safely perform the physical tasks required in a retail building supply environment
What We Offer
- Pay: $16 to $22 an hour range based on experience
- Schedule: Full time approximately 40 hours per week including Saturdays
