The Impact You'll Make
As our Laboratory Technical Consultant, you will be the scientific and technical backbone of our operations. Your expertise will ensure that every result we deliver is accurate, compliant, and clinically meaningful. You’ll guide our laboratory team in best practices, oversee quality systems, and serve as the go-to resource for complex technical questions—ultimately safeguarding the trust our clinicians and patients place in us.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical and scientific oversight for all laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA, COLA, CAP, and state regulations.
- Review, approve, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and regulatory alignment.
- Monitor quality control and proficiency testing results, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel to maintain high technical competency and adherence to protocols.
- Consult with physicians and healthcare providers on test selection, interpretation, and limitations.
- Oversee the validation and verification of new instruments, assays, and methodologies.
- Ensure proper documentation and readiness for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Be available for consultation—whether in person, by phone, or electronically—to address urgent technical issues.
What You'll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent).
- Meets CLIA requirements for a Technical Consultant in a moderate complexity laboratory.
- 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Deep knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, methodologies, and quality management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for guiding staff and collaborating with clinicians.
