Job Summary
Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Server, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to providing exceptional nutritional care and dining experiences for our residents. In this vital role, you will assist with meal service, food preparation, and sanitation while ensuring safety and comfort for our residents, many of whom are seniors requiring specialized care. Your positive attitude and commitment to quality will help create a warm, welcoming environment that promotes health and well-being.
Duties
- Serve meals to residents in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences, ensuring timely and respectful service.
- Assist with food production and meal preparation, following established recipes, safety standards, and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchens, and food handling equipment through regular sanitation and organization.
- Support dietary staff with bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and managing food storage to uphold food safety standards.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and safe lifting practices to support kitchen operations efficiently.
- Work closely with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary requirements for residents with specific health needs or restrictions.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly during all food handling and sanitation activities to ensure workplace safety.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with food production, meal preparation, and sanitation practices is essential.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or in a healthcare setting enhances your ability to meet residents’ unique needs.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards and proper handling procedures is important.
- Strong time management skills are necessary to coordinate meal service efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Certification in CPR and workplace safety protocols is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications is expected.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
