Safe Families for Children is a faith-motivated, community-based program designed to provide support to socially isolated parents facing crisis. You’ll join a small-but-mighty team that serves in the Quad Cities area. You may be in Moline, Illinois one day and then Muscatine, Iowa the next.
In this Family Coach and Community Engagement job, you’ll be a point of contact for families in need. You thrive when working with a variety of people, from all walks of life. In this role you’ll work with parents, host families, faith communities, and community partners all to assist, strengthen, and support the family.
Core Responsibilities:
● Build and maintain effective relationships with church representatives and community agencies
● Oversee referrals, determine program “fit” and match to host family, and assist with establishing hosting arrangements
● Be part of the intake process by handling crisis calls and meeting with families to complete their paperwork
● Develop relationships with referral sources and ensure a steady pipeline of referrals needed to meet our chapter’s needs
● Assist in completing home screenings and interviews of volunteers, and completion of paperwork from home studies.
● Assist in the Safe Family selection, transportation, and placement of children into host family homes and other supportive services with Safe Family volunteers
● Build community partnerships and engage in outreach to community service providers ● Perform additional Chapter-related duties as assigned, including supporting events, identifying funding opportunities, and addressing emerging needs.
Qualifications:
● 3+ years of professional work or related experience
● Experience working with at-risk children and families
● Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
● Must provide own transportation and willing to transport children as needed

Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in a related field; Social Work; Psychology, Education, Nursing, etc
● Experience collaborating with local faith communities
● Ability to engage with a variety of audiences in different settings including child welfare, faith communities, and collaborative networks
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
