Job Summary
The Nwaogu Law Firm is a fast growing law firm in the Houston area about 10 minutes from the Galleria, seeking an experienced, dedicated and organized family law paralegal that has the ability to handle complex family law issues including, divorce, enforcements, modifications and child custody matters. Multi-tasking skills, ability to triage projects, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication are required. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for family law and strong organizational skills.
Candidates must have experience in family law and be comfortable drafting pleadings, motions, and orders, preparing discovery, and navigating the court system in Harris county, Fort Bend County and surrounding counties. Preferred candidates will have experience managing calendars and working on multiple cases.
Duties
- Anticipate and meet deadlines
- Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and correspondence
- Manage and organize case files and a case load of at least 55 cases
- Calendaring
- Organizing discovery
- Communication and coordination with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
- Utilizing document management systems efficiently
- Supporting attorneys in trial preparation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Family Law Paralegal or similar role
- Proficiency in legal drafting and use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to gather relevant information from clients and potential clients, and to document and relay that information accurately
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
