Direct Support Professional (DSP)Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact while building experience in the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in community activities
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment
- Accurately document progress, behaviors, and incidents
- Transport individuals to appointments and outings as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Experience in hospice care, dementia care, or nursing home settings is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to assist with ADLs and basic medical tasks (e.g., taking vital signs)
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
