SUMMARY
This is a part-time position to support students’ health and well-being by providing clinical services, health education, and wellness support within the College’s Health & Wellness Office. The position serves as a clinical resource for student health needs, including health assessments, immunization compliance support, health education, and referrals to appropriate campus and community resources.
The position works collaboratively with the Wellness Navigator to support the College’s immunization compliance process, provide health-related guidance to students, and connect students with appropriate campus and community resources. The work is performed under general direction and within the scope of professional nursing practice.
NATURE AND SCOPE
- Provides nursing support, clinical consultation, and health education services to students and the campus community.
- Works collaboratively with the Wellness Navigator to support student immunization compliance, including review of complex immunization questions, medical documentation, and clinical concerns requiring nursing expertise.
- Provides clinical guidance related to immunization requirements, including review of titers, exemptions, and other health documentation as appropriate.
- Supports the maintenance of student health records and compliance with New York State immunization requirements.
- Provides consultation and support to students managing health conditions, new diagnoses, self-administered medications, or other health-related needs, including health education and appropriate referrals.
- Provides clinical guidance and support to Health & Wellness staff and the Wellness Navigator when student health concerns require nursing expertise, clinical judgment, or support beyond the scope of non-clinical staff.
- Provides health education, wellness programming, prevention initiatives, and campus health promotion activities for students and the campus community.
- Provides nursing assessment and clinical triage within the scope of professional nursing practice and makes appropriate referrals to healthcare providers and community resources.
- Assists with infection prevention and health-related response efforts in collaboration with Health and Wellness Leadership, Campus Police, and appropriate campus and community health partners.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to student health services.
- Maintains confidentiality and protects student health information in accordance with applicable laws and College policies.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York and 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
- CPR/AED as a professional rescuer.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with immunizations, health education, college health, community health, or student support services preferred.
