American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg LTAC unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and active IL licensure.
-
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med/Surg unit in an acute care hospital setting
-
10-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
-
Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotic, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac cases
-
Care involves PEG tube feedings, CVC/PICC/midline management, and tracheostomy patients
-
RNs responsible for titrating drips, including Heparin
-
Respiratory Therapy manages ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment; RNs troubleshoot only
-
Housewide tele packs monitored by dedicated Monitor Techs in the ICU
-
House Supervisor available 24/7; no dedicated charge nurse taking assignments
-
Nurse aides/PCTs on unit at a 1:10 ratio
-
12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
EPIC EMR used
-
Every other weekend requirement plus additional shifts as needed
-
Holiday rotation required plus additional shifts as needed
-
Potential to float to ICU or Acute Rehab as needed
-
No current call or standby requirement, though subject to change

Active IL RN license required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
-
BLS (AHA) certification required
-
ACLS preferred but not required
-
EPIC EMR experience preferred
-
Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
-
Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg LTAC setting including drip titration and specialized wound and tube care
-
Unit orientation includes classroom training per facility policy plus 2 shifts with a preceptor
-
Scrubs required in any color; only facility-approved t-shirts permitted
-
Local candidates accepted; local rate applies for clinicians within 50 miles of the facility
-
No radius restriction for eligibility

COVID vaccination not required
