Desert Trauma Surgeons, A Medical Group, Inc. (DTS), is a physician-led, patient-focused organization committed to delivering exceptional trauma and acute care surgery services. We are currently seeking a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) to join our growing team.
DTS is proud to elevate the standard of care for both patients and partner hospitals. Since 2022, we have expanded to serve multiple Level II Trauma Centers in Los Angeles County, including St. Francis Medical Center and St. Mary Medical Center.
We are seeking Nurse Practitioners with a strong interest in trauma, acute care, and critical care. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, compassionate, and committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inpatient care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients of all ages with acute injuries, infections, and illnesses.
- Perform minor outpatient procedures such as laceration repair, suture removal, and drain removal.
- Counsel and educate patients and families on acute and chronic conditions, treatment plans, and ongoing care.
- Accurately document clinical information, including chief complaints, histories, assessments, plans, medications, allergies, and physical exams.
- Collaborate with attending surgeons to develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and minor procedures as needed.
- Order and interpret lab and imaging tests to support diagnosis and treatment decisions.
- Coordinate patient care with specialists and ancillary services to ensure continuity and quality.
- Complete all documentation and administrative tasks in a timely and thorough manner.
- Deliver comprehensive trauma, critical care, and acute care services, including patient evaluation, management, and coordination of care within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
- Work 10-hour shifts as part of a 24/7/365 trauma service.
Qualifications:
- ACTIVE, unrestricted California license as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC or AGACNP-BC).
- ACTIVE California DEA license
- Board Certification by ANCC or AANP..
- Able to work independently and practice autonomously when clinically appropriate.
- Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; expected to round on 20+ patients per day.
- Strong clinical background with prior experience in inpatient, emergency room, ICU, or OR settings preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality care under pressure.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
