The Camas Police Department is seeking to fill a full-time Police Records Clerk/Dispatcher II vacancy. The position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This position is represented by the CPEA bargaining unit and eligible for a full benefits package. This position is covered under Civil Service rules, including the hiring and selection process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by training in applicable computer software, administrative skills or other specialized area of assignment

Two years of clerical or administrative support experience related to law enforcement or government records

Technology skills including intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word)

Ability to pass state and federal background checks for security clearance including polygraph examination
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent customer service skills, good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision making skills, ability to work with all sectors of the community - public, private, business, schools, and citizens, flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, and the ability to handle sensitive, traumatic, or distressing content using various forms of media, e.g., audio, video images and written reports.
IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION

A written test will take place on Saturday, August 29, at the Camas Police Department.

Applicants MUST be able to attend the test if invited to do so after applications are screened for qualifications. If unable to attend, applicant will not advance in the process.

There is a required $20 testing materials fee which will be collected the day of the test.

Details regarding the testing process will be sent on Friday, August 21, to applicants selected to advance.

Follow-up interviews/practical exam will take place September 17th and 18th at the Camas Police Department. (updated dates)

Final candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check and polygraph.
