Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, resposible, and efficient cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is vital in ensuring smooth store operations and fostering customer loyalty. Prior experience with POS systems and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Duties
- Operate POS systems to process sales transactions quickly and accurately
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or concerns
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, upselling techniques, and product demos
- Restock shelves, merchandise displays, and assist with stocking as needed
- Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and assisting with inventory management
- Engage in suggestive selling to enhance sales opportunities
- Uphold store policies on phone etiquette, safety, and cleanliness
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience in retail sales, upselling, and product demonstrations
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership roles or team support
- Knowledge of convenience store operations or merchandising is beneficial
- Ability to perform stocking tasks such as stocking shelves and inventory checks
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone or in person
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and responsibly in a retail and food service environment
