Role Description: The Service Writer is a full-time, on-site role based in Waco, TX. This position serves as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. The Service Writer is also responsible for communication with equipment manufacturers for the purpose of documenting equipment issues, preparing work orders, and filing warranty claims. Tracking and monitoring of claims status is required. The Service writer will also coordinate with technicians to schedule and track service and repairs, review estimates, communicate timelines & repair status to customers, and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company procedures. The role also involves maintaining organized records, supporting billing processes, and contributing to a positive, efficient service environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to manage customer interactions and support repeat business.
- Candidates should possess basic knowledge of machinery and/or parts to effectively communicate with customers, technicians, and manufacturers.
- Candidates should possess professional Phone Etiquette to handle incoming and outgoing calls in a courteous, efficient manner.
- Candidates should possess solid Computer Literacy to enter work orders, update records, and navigate service and billing software.
- Relevant experience in equipment service, automotive, or heavy machinery environments is HIGHLY favored.
- Ability to organize multiple service requests, prioritize tasks, and work accurately in a fast-paced setting is preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or technical terminology is required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional vocational or technical training in a related field is a plus.
Pay: $15.00 - $27.00 per hour
