Garage Door Technician Trainee

Pay: Starting at $22 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday with overtime and occasional travel as needed
Job Summary
Elko Overhead Door is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to train as a Garage Door Technician.
No garage door experience is required. We will provide hands-on training for the right candidate. This position involves installing, servicing and repairing residential and commercial garage doors and openers throughout Elko and the surrounding area.
This is a physical, hands-on position with opportunities to learn a skilled trade, increase your pay and grow with an established local company.
Responsibilities
- Assist with garage door and opener installations
- Diagnose and repair garage door problems
- Replace springs, cables, rollers, openers and other components
- Load and unload doors, tools and materials
- Maintain an organized work truck and jobsite
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Complete job notes, photos and paperwork accurately
- Follow company procedures and safety requirements
- Travel to surrounding communities and commercial jobsites when needed
- Learn to complete service calls independently
Qualifications
- No garage door experience required
- Mechanically inclined and willing to learn
- Dependable and able to arrive on time
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Able to safely lift and carry heavy materials
- Comfortable working from ladders and at heights
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather
- Able to use hand tools and power tools
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- Must be able to pass applicable employment and jobsite screening requirements
Construction, welding, mechanical, maintenance, electrical or equipment experience is helpful but not required.
