Almond Tree New York partners with Family Child Care providers throughout New York City to strengthen early childhood education by supporting children, families, and providers through educational leadership, family engagement, community partnerships, and comprehensive support services.
We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Service Worker to help strengthen relationships with families, connect them with community resources, and support their overall well-being. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with diverse communities and is passionate about helping children and families thrive.
What You'll Do
As our Family Service Worker, you'll play an important role in supporting families by building positive relationships, connecting them with available resources, and promoting active family engagement throughout our programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and community partners.
- Assist families with enrollment, required documentation, and program participation.
- Connect families with community resources and support services based on their needs.
- Promote family engagement through ongoing communication and outreach.
- Maintain accurate family records, documentation, and confidential files.
- Collaborate with program staff to support children's development and family success.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and community outreach activities as needed.
- Support Almond Tree New York's mission of providing high-quality services to children and families.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, and passionate about supporting children and families through meaningful relationships and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or CDA (Child Development Associate) credential required.
- Experience working with families and young children is required.
- Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with families.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in family engagement, case management, or community outreach.
- Knowledge of community resources and family support services.
- Experience working in early childhood education, child care, or nonprofit organizations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
