Summary of Maintenance Staff Position:
The maintenance staff member is responsible for keeping the restaurant building, both internally and externally, clean, safe, and in orderly condition. This includes performing heavy duty cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Additional responsibilities may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from sidewalk.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms, kitchen spaces, and staff areas

Sweep, mop, scrub or vacuum restaurant floors

Maintain restaurant security by keeping doors locked during non-business hours

Conduct scheduled checks of restrooms, landscaping, windows and entryways

Ensure parking lot, landscape, and back dock areas are clean and free of debris

Replace interior and exterior light bulbs using appropriate ladders and safety procedures
-
High dust artifacts, air conditioning ducts, ledges and bar cages
-
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools

Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures

Notify management of major repair needs or issues with building systems

Maintain a clean and safe environment by reporting any unsafe procedures or conditions to management
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or director
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Understanding of basic cleaning techniques, tools, and products

Awareness of safe chemical handling and proper storage procedures

Understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard reporting

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction

Must be 18 years of age or older

Previous cleaning or maintenance experience preferred

Basic knowledge of dining room operations and service procedures

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Expected to keep work location a safe and healthy work environment. Utilize basic safety measures to keep the work environment safe. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor. Where safety rules or best practices require that protective clothing/glove/shoes/equipment to be worn, or apparatus utilized, employees must wear clothing /gloves, shoes and equipment and use the apparatus.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the duration of the shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. or more

Climb ladder when reaching for items that are on upper shelves

Exposure to varying temperatures, hot (kitchen) and cold (walk ins)
