Location/Position: Jericho, NY (Full-time, onsite)
The Law Office of Gregory A. Goodman, P.C. is a plaintiff’s personal injury litigation firm based on Long Island, NY with a 24-year track record of results. We handle motor vehicle accident and premises (slip/fall) cases from intake through resolution.
In this role, you will own the no-fault process, the insurance correspondence, and the medical documentation that build a case from intake to demand. If you are organized, proactive, and want to own your files end to end without being micromanaged, this is the role.
Position Summary
You will serve as the firm's dedicated pre-litigation paralegal for new and active pre-suit matters. Your core mandate is to develop each case from intake through the demand package: open no-fault and bodily injury claims, drive medical records and bills to completion, document lost earnings, and keep every file current and accurate. You provide proactive, scheduled status updates as part of moving each case toward resolution or suit. You will work closely with attorneys and the back-office team; routine intake scheduling and reactive client requests are handled by support staff, so your focus stays on case development. You will work within the firm's Clio Manage and Clio Grow platforms, AI-assisted tools, and automated workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Intake and File Setup: Confirm and complete intake information and documents (signed retainer, HIPAA authorizations, driver's license, police report). Set up and maintain the matter in Clio.
- Claims Setup: Open No-Fault/PIP, Bodily Injury (BI), and SUM/UM claims. Complete and file the NF-2, obtain claim numbers, policy limits, and liability positions, and send Letters of Representation to all carriers and the defendant.
- Medical Records and Bills: Draft HIPAA-compliant authorizations. Request, track, and follow up on records and bills from providers, friendly and non-friendly, until each file is complete.
- No-Fault Documentation: Manage no-fault forms and submissions (NF-2, NF-3, NF-7), PIP ledgers, IME reports and disclaimers, and Medicaid/Medicare forms.
- Evidence and Records: Obtain police reports (MV-104), repair estimates and bills, hospital records, and accident photos.
- Lost Earnings: Coordinate lost earnings documentation (NF-7, disability letters, wage and tax records) and submit to the PIP carrier. Track mileage.
- Case Development and Demand Prep: Track treatment and case milestones, keep files current, and assemble records and bills into the demand package for attorney review.
- Client Status Updates: Provide proactive, scheduled status updates to clients as their cases progress.
- File and Deadline Management: Maintain accurate, current case files and notes in Clio. Calendar all deadlines, statutory dates, and status checkpoints.
