American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and active DC RN licensure.

Level I Trauma Emergency Department at an academic medical center in Washington, DC

Fast-paced ED treating a broad patient population including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients

Nurses are expected to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN
-
Patient ratio of 1:5

Critical care skills utilized include medication titrations, arterial lines, massive blood transfusions, and chest tube management

Cerner EMR experience required
-
13-week contract with 3x12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Active DC RN license required — no pending licenses accepted

Active US SSN required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC — AHA-issued certifications only

CPI certification required for this position

Minimum 2 years of ER experience in a US hospital required

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required

BSN highly desired

Cerner EMR experience required

Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs, prioritizing patient safety, quality, and experience

Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
