Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, suspension, transmission, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, electrical wiring diagrams interpretation, and diesel engines with precision and efficiency.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive repair equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct wheel alignments and vehicle suspension system repairs to ensure optimal handling and safety standards.
- Interpret schematics and automotive wiring diagrams accurately to troubleshoot complex electrical problems.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and communicate repair findings clearly with customers to enhance service experience.
- Stay current with automotive technology advancements including ADAS calibration and GM vehicle specifications to provide top-tier service.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle systems such as powertrain, transmissions, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and interpreting schematics for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle transmission system repair, diesel engine repair, and vehicle suspension system repair.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and ability to perform auto service tasks efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar brands is preferred but not required.
- Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training is highly desirable.
