Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented 2nd shift Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in our production facility. In this role, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all USDA, OSHA, QA, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and customer requirements. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, meeting production goals, maintaining food safety and quality standards, promoting continuous improvement, and fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for producing a quality product that meets all Safety, USDA, QA, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and customer requirements.
- Directly supervise production employees to ensure daily production schedules and operational objectives are achieved.
- Continuously develop and implement production improvements that increase labor efficiency, productivity, and workflow without compromising product quality or employee safety.
- Set up production line equipment and coordinate product changeovers.
- Monitor production performance and address operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Ensure all production reports, labor records, and operational documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Verify employee attendance, hours worked, and payroll-related information for accuracy and compliance.
- Verify ingredients, formulas, and usage rates to ensure adherence to product specifications.
- Assign personnel based on skill level, experience, capacity, and operational requirements.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop employees to improve performance and increase cross-functional capabilities.
- Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate safety expectations, production goals, quality requirements, and operational priorities.
- Provide employee recognition, coaching, counseling, and corrective action as necessary to maintain company standards.
- Investigate and document production, safety, quality, food safety, and personnel issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Management teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, labor efficiency, yield, waste, downtime, attendance, and quality metrics.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste using continuous improvement principles.
- Participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production reporting systems preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Food Science, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of food manufacturing experience required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of USDA, OSHA, SQF, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
- Frozen food manufacturing experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as required.
- Typical shift: 3:30 p.m. to 12:30–1:00 p.m.
The employee must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Spend approximately 80% of work time on the production floor and 20% performing office and administrative duties.
- Bend, squat, and perform repetitive hand motions.
- Work in wet, refrigerated, and frozen environments.
- Work safely in a food production atmosphere.
Pay: $61,085.18 - $73,564.95 per year
