American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum position at a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing history.

Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit in a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital

Patient ratio of 1:3

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)

Weekend work required

Floating within the hospital is required; no floating to sister hospitals

No on-call responsibilities

Uses Epic for charting (preferred but not required)

13-week contract with potential for extension

Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted

Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and IBCLC
-
Minimum 2 years of Postpartum / Mother-Baby RN experience

At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment required — first-time travelers are not eligible

Proficiency in newborn care: assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, phototherapy, and medication administration

Proficiency with magnesium infusions, insulin infusions, PCA/PCEA infusions, and heparin infusions

COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions

Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies

RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week; no RTO may be requested during orientation week

Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler

Scrubs of any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel

Daily parking is available on-site for a fee
