USA Prime Central Iowa Fastpitch is seeking passionate Assistant Coaches who are committed to developing athletes through outstanding instruction, positive leadership, accountability, and a love for the game.
Whether you're a former competitive high school or collegiate athlete looking to begin your coaching journey or an experienced coach looking to stay involved in the sport, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on young athletes.
We're looking for assistant coaches who want to be more than someone standing in the dugout. We want mentors who teach fundamentals, inspire confidence, build relationships, and help athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Head Coach during practices and tournament competition.
- Teach and reinforce hitting, fielding, throwing, baserunning, and softball fundamentals.
- Encourage, motivate, and mentor athletes in a positive, competitive environment.
- Assist with practice planning, game preparation, and player development.
- Help foster a disciplined, supportive, and team-first culture.
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, and fellow coaches.
- Represent USA Prime Central Iowa with integrity, professionalism, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications
- Prior fastpitch coaching experience is preferred; however, former competitive high school and collegiate fastpitch athletes are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of fastpitch fundamentals and game strategy.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Availability for evening practices and weekend tournaments.
- Ability to pass a background check.

Schedule
- Three evening practices per week (Fall, Spring & Summer Seasons).
- Weekend tournaments throughout the season (Fall, Spring, & Summer Seasons).
- Indoor winter training.
Compensation
This is a part-time, seasonal coaching position.
- Assistant Coaches receive a flat stipend of $150 per tournament weekend.
- Coaches are not compensated for practices or team meetings.
- Additional travel reimbursement or compensation may be provided for approved out-of-town tournaments.
This position is ideal for former competitive athletes, aspiring coaches, teachers, or individuals who are passionate about mentoring young athletes and giving back to the game of fastpitch softball.
