Job Overview
A shop foreman serves as the vital link between upper management and the shop floor. They coordinate daily operations, supervise staff, enforce safety and quality control standards, and mentor technicians to ensure all repairs or manufacturing tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and profitably.
Oversees the mechanics daily duties including: inspection, maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, pickups, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Technicians will keep track of important system components such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical cooling systems and steering systems. Hours are 7:00am-5pm M-F and occasional Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality repairs on heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on complex machinery such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and farm equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct maintenance tasks including oil changes, transmission repairs, brake servicing, suspension work, hydraulics troubleshooting, and electrical diagnostics
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other specialized machinery to complete repairs accurately
- Inspect equipment for safety issues such as air brake systems, alignment problems, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and tire service needs
- Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and parts inventory to ensure smooth operation and compliance with safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process

- Overseeing shop duties; (maintenance, brakes, hydraulics/pneumatics, field mechanics, repairs/PMs, diagnostic for both electric and mechanical, troubleshooting, AC, oil changes, tire maintenance)

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record, Air Conditioning/Brake Certification a plus, CDL a plus, knowledge on Detroit DD15 motors a plus
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
