Matt's Auto Care is looking for an experienced and motivated Level B Automotive Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for a technician who can independently perform most maintenance and repair work while continuing to develop advanced diagnostic skills. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently, and is committed to providing honest and reliable service to every customer.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and accurately identify maintenance and repair needs
- Diagnose and repair drivability, suspension, steering, brake, heating and air conditioning, cooling, charging, starting, and electrical system concerns
- Perform engine, transmission, differential, and drivetrain repairs within skill level
- Complete timing belt, water pump, suspension, steering, brake, and cooling system repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer recommendations
- Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify repairs
- Complete repair orders with clear, accurate notes
- Maintain productivity while producing quality work
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs when necessary
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
- Properly care for shop tools and equipment
- Communicate with the service advisor regarding repair recommendations and additional findings
- Participate in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge
Qualifications
- 3 to 7 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of domestic and import vehicles
- Ability to perform most repairs without direct supervision
- Experience with computerized diagnostics
- ASE Certifications preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Own a complete set of professional automotive tools

Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- Stand, bend, kneel, and work under vehicles for extended periods
- Safely operate shop equipment including vehicle lifts, tire machines, alignment equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Work in varying temperatures within a repair shop environment
