Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Gasoline and Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the automotive industry, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines. This role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The position offers an opportunity to work with all makes and models of vehicles in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines, including engine overhauls and component replacements
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, and alignments
- Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Service vehicle systems such as hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and electrical components
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before failure occurs
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of complex equipment components when necessary
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with gasoline and diesel engines; dealership experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various positions for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and experience with Mitchell1 shop software is a plus.
This position requires a dedicated professional with a passion for vehicle repair and maintenance. Candidates should demonstrate mechanical knowledge across various machinery types while maintaining high safety standards. Prior experience working on both gasoline and diesel engines is essential for success in this role.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
