Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Non-CDL Local Driver to join our team on a 1099 independent contractor basis. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods within local areas, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26ft box truck or similar vehicle to deliver goods to various local destinations
- Loads are no-touch freight majority of the time, however, please be flexible.
- Manage route driving efficiently, adhering to schedules and traffic laws
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries
- Verify delivery accuracy and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as moving inventory, organizing shipments, and maintaining cleanliness
Skills
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must pass an MVR report.
- Must possess an updated medical card.
- No less than one year experience as a delivery driver or courier with route driving familiarity
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude
- Experience with warehouse operations, including loading/unloading and heavy lifting
- Ability to operate a box truck with manual transmission safely and confidently
- Knowledge of pallet jack handling is a plus
- Excellent driving record with knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations
