Job Title: Metal Fabricator / Welder – MIG & TIG (Stainless & Mild Steel)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator and Welder with expertise in MIG and TIG welding to join our specialized fabrication shop. This role focuses on custom metalwork for complex projects, including structural components, equipment beds, stairways, handrails, and sanitary weldments for food processing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precise fabrication rather than routine production welding, with the ability to interpret detailed blueprints and work independently to produce high-quality, code-compliant weldments. Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and safety are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel materials.
- Execute custom fabrication projects based on detailed blueprints and shop drawings.
- Build equipment beds, stairways, structural steel components, handrails, platforms, and sanitary weldments.
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately; lay out and cut materials as specified.
- Maintain high standards of fit-up, finish quality, and weld integrity.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Operate shop equipment such as CNC laser cutters, press brakes, and overhead cranes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience with stainless steel and mild steel.
- Proven experience in custom fabrication projects; production welding alone is insufficient.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and work independently from detailed drawings.
- Experience with food-grade or sanitary welding is highly desirable.
- Own basic hand tools; meticulous attention to fit-up and finishing details.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, with pride in craftsmanship and clean work practices.
Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
