IQ CAR WASH POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Car Wash Assistant Manager Department: Operations
A. Primary Purpose of Job:
To assist in the management of a location for day to day operations, including
maintenance, employees, and customer service.
B. Major Functions for this position. (Below are the main responsibilities of the
Location Manager in which the Assistant Manager will be assisting. Assistant
Manager may be asked to operate in some capacity of manager in the absence
of the Location Manager or on the weekends)
1. Customer Service: Ability to effectively communicate with customers to
understand their needs. The ability to work with customers to solve problems,
assist with needs, etc all while maintaining a positive attitude and understanding
the importance of the customer experience.
2. Managing Employees: Responsible for the effective and efficient use of
employees. This includes organizing tasks, creating schedules, keeping
accountability, managing conflict, training, etc.
3. Maintenance: Responsible for ensuring routine preventative maintenance is
being completed as scheduled on equipment as well as making sure equipment
repairs are completed as they arise.
4. Chemical Monitoring & Adjustments: Must be able to learn chemical composition
for effective washing, check chemical levels constantly, and adjust chemicals as
needed/instructed.
5. Call Ins: Ability and willingness to be called in from time to time outside of the
normal work schedule for equipment repairs, covering for employees, etc.
Other Functions Included:
6. Cleaning Facilities: Ensure that all facilities, equipment, and machinery are kept
clean and in good working condition. Attention to detail is a must.
7. Chemical Filling: Sorting, organizing, filling chemicals for the car wash in various
size containers from boxes to 30 gallon drums. This will require the ability to pick
up and move up to 50 pounds.
8. Trash Removal: Check and empty trash on a regular basis. This will require
removing bags from trash containers and lifting them into dumpsters.
9. Minor Equipment Repairs: Ability to troubleshoot and fix minor equipment issues
while on shift to ensure equipment is working properly and customer
expectations are met.
10.Powerwashing: Ability and willingness to use a power washer in various
applications to clean car wash facilities, including parking lot, bay walls, etc.
11. Wall Scrubbing: Ability and willingness to use chemicals and a deck brush to
clean facilities as needed.
12.Customer Interaction Reporting: Report in detail customer interactions that fit into
the guidelines of what needs to be reported.
13.Electronics/Computers: Ability to use, understand and troubleshoot
electronic/computer components of the car wash when needed.
14.Car Wash Shift Work: Will be required to work multiple shifts per week and the
shifts may vary in times and days of the week. Also may be asked to fill in shifts
from time to time as needed.
15.Other Duties: Will be required to perform other tasks not listed as needed to help
the operations of the car wash and overall company.

Inside the Company: Car Wash Attendants, Maintenance Technician,
Company Owners
Outside the Company: Vendors, Contractors, etc.
E. Position Specifications
The required specifications (education, experience, and skills) are those that the
employee must have to hold the position. Applicants applying for this position must
possess the required specifications in order to be considered for the job. The desired
specifications are those that are not required for the employee to hold the position
but the employee should try to obtain the desired education, experience, and/or
skills to be effective and successful in the position.
1. Required education High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Desired skills: Customer service experience or training. Some
mechanical & equipment knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
A. Speaking/occasional: Worker needs to communicate verbally with
customers, other employees, and outside vendors.
B. Bending/frequent: Many job activities require bending or stooping (i.e.
picking up chemicals, picking up trash, fixing equipment issues).
C. Breathing (non-assisted)/frequent: All job activities require the ability to
move around the facilities Must be able to maintain breath and move
continually while performing tasks.
D. Lifting/frequent: Worker will be required to lift up to 50 pounds when
completing tasks. Not only is weight a consideration but some items are
large and awkward to handle.
E. Standing/frequent: Worker is required to stand when working for long
periods of time depending on the task.
F. Walking/occasional: Worker is required to perform work in and around the
facilities. Work is not confined to a specific work location. Rapid pace is
needed to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
Mental Requirements:
A. Concentrating/continuous: The quality of work has a direct impact on the
outcome of the tasks given. Worker must perform work correctly or the
results could lead to inefficiencies and potential downtime.
B. Conceptualizing/occasional: Worker is required to listen to or read
instructions when repairing equipment or performing tasks. Worker is
responsible to retain accurate records when necessary.
C. Learning/frequent: Worker is always learning new techniques on improving
the life and durability of our company; training is a continuous process that
starts on the first day of employment and never ends.
D. Reasoning/frequent: Worker is required to understand requests and
comments from the managers, owners, customers, etc. Need to be
capable of gathering information and determining what steps are
necessary to complete the tasks given or meet a need.
E. Thinking/continuous: Worker is required to take verbal and written
direction and to surmise how these specifically apply to his/her
environment.
3. What is the extent of direct or indirect impact on sales, expenses, profits, etc.?
Poor customer service, lack of management, and poorly maintained
equipment/facilities and efficiently performing tasks can result in reduced
productivity of the company as a whole. Staying focused on tasks while
thinking ahead and being aware of surroundings are essential. Customers
must always be on the forefront of everything we do.
F. Please list any additional criteria which should be recognized in evaluating the
scope and impact of this position.
This must be a reliable individual who needs little supervision. Some tasks and repairs
must be performed immediately regardless of when the employee is scheduled to leave
work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
