Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Englewood, CO
Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour. Pay is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and treatments such as tube feedings and catheter care following strict protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging procedures to support accurate diagnoses.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, manage acute pain, and respond swiftly to emergencies such as airway management or ventilator issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for patients with complex needs like dementia or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed medical records ensuring compliance with HIPAA and long-term care regulations while documenting all patient interactions accurately.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers on medication administration, health coaching, and disease management including Alzheimer’s care and geriatrics.
Requirements
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Experience in various clinical settings including long-term care facilities, hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), emergency rooms, or outpatient clinics.
- Skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile technique, first aid, and infection control practices.
- Strong communication skills for effective caregiver interaction and patient education.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or hospital medicine units while adhering to safety protocols like CPR/BLS certification.
