We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Manager to oversee the operational and financial performance of a portfolio of residential communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with extensive knowledge of property management operations, compliance standards, team development, and resident relations. This role requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage multiple properties while driving occupancy, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and overall performance of multiple residential communities within an assigned portfolio.
- Ensure all properties operate in compliance with company policies, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC guidelines (if applicable), and all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Monitor occupancy, leasing trends, delinquency, budgets, and financial performance across all assigned communities.
- Partner with onsite teams to develop and implement leasing, marketing, and resident retention strategies.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety standards, curb appeal, asset preservation, and operational consistency.
- Review operational reports, budgets, and financial statements to identify opportunities for improvement and maximize portfolio performance.
- Assist with capital improvement projects, vendor management, contract negotiations, and maintenance oversight.
- Respond to escalated resident concerns and support onsite teams with conflict resolution and operational challenges.
- Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, teamwork, and operational excellence across all communities.
- Collaborate with ownership and senior leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term portfolio goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily property management, including multi-site supervision.
- Previous experience managing teams and overseeing multiple residential communities required.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Housing regulations, property operations, budgeting, and compliance standards.
- Experience with LIHTC and affordable housing programs preferred.
- Proficiency with property management software such as OneSite, Yardi, or similar platforms.
- Proven leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills with the ability to interpret operational reports and budgets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel between properties as needed.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
