Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and decorating cakes to meet customer specifications while ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and cake decorating, along with experience in food production and customer service. We would also like to add that our baker and decorators receive tips in addition to their pay as we are located inside a Brewery food hall
Duties
- Create visually appealing cake designs based on customer requests and seasonal themes
- Decorate cakes using various techniques, including piping, fondant application, and airbrushing
- Ensure all cakes are packaged properly for delivery or display
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with food safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill catering orders and special requests
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including baking and assembling cake components
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with clients during order consultations
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, preferably in a bakery or culinary setting
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on baking and pastry techniques
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- A creative mindset with the ability to bring unique ideas to cake designs
