What You Will Do
JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations by aligning procurement activities with operational needs, improving efficiency, and supporting quality and cost objectives. This position bridges procurement and operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of materials and services to support production schedules. This role ensures the right products are sourced at the right time, in the right quantity, and at competitive prices, while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Duties:
- Create and submit timely accurate purchase orders to vendors, supporting contract execution and ensuring compliance with agreements.
- Work with suppliers to resolve issues such as price and quantity mismatches, invoice discrepancies, and delivery problems
- Supports contract execution and vendor-performance monitoring
- Provides operational support. Assist in handling complex clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support issues under minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex matters
- Perform complex data analysis, check records for accuracy, and assist senior team members in process improvements
- Ensure materials meet production schedule requirements, support quality operational improvement initiatives, and assist end users in procurement-related matters.
- Maintains vendor performance metrics for comparison and evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Maintains detailed inventory and minimum stock levels located in the factory. Examples but not limited include fittings, hardware, metals, paint, pipe, motors, pumps, electronics, enclosures, electrical parts, tanks, bases, consumables, gaskets,
- Analyze current procurement and inventory procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
- Negotiate pricing and lead-times for materials and supplier with vendors.
- Monitor performance of suppliers, assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with Engineering and Sales departments.
- Support Manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and supplies.
- Regularly analyze data to optimize supply chain performance.
- Ensure inventory levels meet Operational Plans.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure accuracy and integrity of the procurement and inventory accounting system.
- Standardize work activities to sustain and improve critical procurement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
- BS from an accredited college or university.
- 3-5 years of work experience in procurement in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Work experience in ETO and MTO environments.
- Proficiency in Excel and other software.
- Ability to analyze purchasing data, identify trends, and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English (reading/writing) and good speaking skills a plus.
- Detail-oriented, risk-aware, and capable of handling multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively.
- Ability to promptly solve problems and manage a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
- Strong organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle a dynamic and fast-moving environment with recurring deliverables and production scheduling targets.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
