Additional Information
This is a direct-hire opportunity with steady hours, overtime opportunities, benefits, and room for growth.
No intermodal experience? No problem. We will train candidates with strong mechanical or electrical experience, including backgrounds in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, industrial maintenance, electrical work, HVAC, welding, heavy equipment repair, and other hands-on trades.
- Experienced Technicians: $30–$35/hour, based on experience
- Entry-Level / Trainable Candidates: $22–$23/hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed
- Start Time: 8:00 AM
- Shift: 8–12 hours depending on workload
- Overtime opportunities available
- Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair intermodal chassis, refrigerated containers (reefers), and diesel generator sets (gensets)
- Perform preventative maintenance, FMCSA annual inspections, PTI inspections, and other required repairs
- Diagnose and repair brakes, suspension, wheel ends, electrical systems, lighting, refrigeration systems, diesel engines, and control systems
- Repair or replace tires, bearings, compressors, controllers, sensors, motors, wiring, fans, doors, seals, frames, and other components
- Perform welding, light fabrication, and structural repairs as needed
- Operate yard spotter trucks, mobile service trucks, and forklifts
- Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Ability to learn new systems and repair techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Automotive or diesel repair
- Industrial maintenance
- Electrical or HVAC work
- Welding or fabrication
- Heavy equipment repair
- Trailer, chassis, or reefer repair
- Diesel engine or genset maintenance
- Carrier, Thermo King, CAT, or Cummins equipment
- Diagnostic software and tools
- Reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Military mechanical or technical experience
These are preferred but not required:
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal or Type II)
- ASE Heavy Truck and/or Trailer Certification
- CDL or willingness to obtain one
This position includes work in a maintenance shop, container yard, and outdoor environment. Technicians may be exposed to moving equipment, fuels, oils, diesel engines, mechanical hazards, and moderate to loud noise.
