Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental patient management software
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications efficiently
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and assist with billing procedures using clearinghouses
- Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
- Manage multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, answer inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately
- Assist with administrative support tasks including filing, data entry, and and ensure confidentiality of health information
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience as a receptionist or front desk role within a healthcare or dental setting (Preferred)
- Knowledge of administrative support functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and billing processes (Preferred)
- Familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for documentation review and data entry
- Knowledge of dental terminology and health insurance processes is preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a professional office environment
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly valued
