Join our small, licensed home-based daycare in Mill Valley as a Teacher's Assistant! Kind Elephant is a warm, calm, Montessori-inspired setting where we care for babies and toddlers every day. In this rewarding role, you'll support our lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where little ones can grow, explore, and feel loved. We're looking for a kind, patient, and reliable person with experience working with children who genuinely loves caring for and spending time with young ones. Candidates with strong experience and qualifications are highly valued.
Duties
- Help care for infants and toddlers during play, meals, naps, and outdoor time.
- Support the lead teacher throughout the day with activities, songs, and gentle learning.
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Help prepare materials and set up for activities and meals.
- Assist with light cleaning and keeping the space tidy, safe, and welcoming throughout the day.
- Communicate warmly and honestly with our team and parents.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to help keep every child safe and well.
Skills
- Experience working with children — in a daycare, preschool, school, or similar setting — is required.
- A warm heart, patience, and reliability.
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and young children; babysitting or daycare experience highly valued.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate activities is a strong plus.
- Strong, friendly communication skills for working with parents and our small team.
- Willing to help with daily tasks, preparation, and light cleaning as needed.
- Willing to complete a background check and fingerprinting (required to work in a licensed daycare).
- CPR & Pediatric First Aid certification — or willing to obtain it (we may help cover part of the cost).
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
