Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution of commercial projects, ensuring safe, timely, high-quality delivery. The Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules and budgets, enforce safety and quality standards, and act as the primary on-site representative for owners and project management. Ideal candidates have strong commercial construction experience and familiarity with retail and automotive facility buildouts (car dealerships and service centers).
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day on-site construction activities and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel to meet project milestones.

Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules; coordinate sequencing of work to achieve on-time completion.

Monitor and enforce safety programs and OSHA/site-specific safety requirements; conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.

Ensure construction quality meets contract documents, plans, specifications and industry standards; perform regular inspections and address deficiencies promptly.

Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and logistics; manage on-site inventory and protect stored materials.

Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, architects, clients, and inspectors to resolve design, permit, and field issues.

Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.

Manage punch lists, commissioning activities, and turnover processes to ensure smooth project closeout and client satisfaction.

Control costs by monitoring labor productivity, subcontractor performance, and identifying opportunities for efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Facilitate tenant coordination, specialty system integration (e.g., vehicle lifts, service bays), and client walkthroughs for retail and dealership projects when applicable.
Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial projects; demonstrated track record delivering retail, office building, or automotive dealership projects preferred.

Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, building codes, permitting processes, and OSHA safety regulations.

Proficient reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents; able to produce and update schedules and reports.

Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and stakeholders.

Experience managing project documentation including RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and punch lists.

Familiarity with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Prolog, PlanGrid, MS Project) preferred.

OSHA-30 certification or equivalent and valid drivers license preferred.

Ability to work on-site full time, travel between project locations as needed, and lift/move materials as required.

Nice to have: specific experience with retail buildouts, car dealership and auto service facilities, and office building construction.
