Overview
Join our dynamic maritime team as a Fishing Crew Member and become an essential part of our vibrant private fishing charter and party boat operations. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting fishing activities, vessel maintenance, safety procedures, and customer service onboard a working fishing vessel. Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation and handling of fishing equipment, including securing boats at the dock and assisting passengers with fishing gear, assisting with removal of fish from the passengers lines, filleting fish, ensuring safe and efficient movement at sea, using a winch to carefully guide the anchor line while dropping them or retreiving them.
- Support crew members in assisting with paying customers on a successful Charter Boat business. Most typically 5am to 5pm shifts, sometimes 3pm to 11pm, from April 1st to February 15th, OFF fishing doing dock maintenance during the down time.
- Conduct routine vessel maintenance, including cleaning, mechanical checks, and fishing equipment upkeep to ensure optimal performance of our gear
- Handle ropes, lines, and rigging fishing poles at sea with precision to support fishing activities and passenger care
- Participate in emergency response protocols such as man overboard drills and maritime safety drills to maintain crew readiness for Coast Guard Inspections
- Contribute to onboard hospitality by assisting with removing fish from their lines, getting the passengers lines unstuck from the bottom and providing excellent customer service to guests or clients when applicable
- Communicate effectively with crew members using maritime communication protocols to coordinate daily operations and safety measures
Qualifications
- Prior fishing industry experience or familiarity with Charter Boat Mate work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of USCG regulations related to vessel operation and safety procedures and *cooperate in random drug testing*
- Proficiency in boat handling, rope handling at sea, tieing lines, and vessel maintenance tasks
- Certification or training in first aid, CPR, firefighting, and maritime safety procedures is preferred but not required
- Ability to operate fishing poles, rods and reels safely when required for loading or unloading fishing gear and fish.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork onboard a maritime environment
- Physical stamina to stand, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks over periods at sea for not more than 3 days.
- Hospitality experience or customer service skills are a plus for roles involving guest interactions

Pay: $20.83 - $37.50 per hour
